Recently faced this issue on one of my production site collection which i am not able to replicate in any other site collection or environment.

Users are creating article pages and adding images to Page Image field. The images are added via Asset picker dialog box.

When user tries to add an image following dialog box shows up where warning message is rendered and no image can be selected.



When user clicks on different links on the left like "Style Library" and them click back on "Images" then it throws an exception.

I looked at the logs on the server and found following errors in ULSViewer.

Log 1 -

Application error when access /_layouts/15/AssetPortalBrowser.aspx, Error=Object reference not set to an instance of an object.  
 at Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Internal.CodeBehind.AssetPickerDialog.ConfigureXsltView(Boolean isViewSwitched)    
 at Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.Internal.CodeBehind.AssetPickerDialog.OnInit(EventArgs e)    
 at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer)    
 at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

Log 2-

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Please help as i am stuck and couldn't find any solutions online.

Hi Deepak,

Please check if your SharePoint server(s) have been patched with MS13-052. If yes, uninstall it and reboot.

I looked at the patches on my server and found that the latest patch on the server is KB2883068.

MS13-052 was never installed to that server.

Also the weird part is, this issue is occurring only on one of the site collection and other site collections works fine.

Hi Deepak,

As this issue is just for the special site collection,please backup the problematic site collection, and create a new site collection, then restore the problematic site collection to the new site collection.
