Sharepoint 2013 - copy page function

Hi,

Once the page is created within a site under SP2013 together with contents, Javascript and CSS, etc, we realised after copying the page, editing the properties of the page does not take any affect. For example, removing a Javascript or a CSS file or adding a new one does not take any affect.

Moreover, after several tests, we noticed the issue occurs after the page is copied to a manually created folder. However, if it is copied to a system folder (Pages system folder, when a site created, that page automatically created), it works as expected. Could you please explain why the problem occurs when a page is copied into a manually created folder ?

Do you think it is because SP2013 does not communicate directly to the copied pages  under manual folders and is this an out of box SP feature and should it be counted as a defect!

Hi

From your description, after copying the page to a manually created folder, editing the properties of the page does not take any affect.

I refer to the following article to move or copy a page:

http://www.ucdenver.edu/about/departments/WebServices/sharepoint/onlineTraining/Page/CreatePage/Pages/Moveorcopypage.aspx

I copy a page from site pages library to the folder in a document library using content , then I am able to edit the properties of the page.

So I can't reproduce your issue.

To reproduce your issue, I would like to know how do you edit the properties of the page? how do you copy the page to a file? it's better to offer a screenshot.

I am looking forward to your reply back.

Best Regards

Lisa Chen
