Sharepoint 2010 as an e-learning platform?

Hello everyone

has anyone implemented Sharepoint as an e-learning platform?

In my organisation, we are trying to cut down costs by moving away from instructor-based training to using an e-learning system. We have a Sharepoint 2010 platform. I am considering Sharepoint as a possible solution. The training material will be videos, quizzes/exams,  PDF-based tutorials etc.

Thank you all in advance

Hi,

As I understand, you want to implement SharePoint as an e-learning platform in SharePoint 2010.

You could create a team site. You also could create document libraries for course materials, shared calendars for lesson plans, discussions and announcements. You could upload the files to these libraries according to the categories. And you could add the video in the page by editing the page.

For more detailed information, you could refer to the articles below.

Hi efyuze (now that's not a very nice name)    ;)

SP can be a great platform for e-learning as Sara so diligently laid out. The only thing I would add is that it also depends on how deep you want to go. If you're just putting content out there for people to use to learn, that's one thing, but if you want restricted access, automation (for grading, etc.), time tracking, complicated workflows, etc. then it may get beyond your limits. I'd suggest thorough planning ahead of time as to what you want to do and find out if the capabilities are there.
