Sharepoint 2010 - SQL Server memory utilization at 100%; only way to release is to restart Sharepoint (and the server)
Greetings all, Yet another server-level issue that is baffling us. Sharepoint 2010 is the *only* thing in our SQL database. Something about our instance went "click" about two weeks ago, and since then, SQL Service utilization has increased from about 7GB at nominal/with a few page loads level to the entire 32GB memory capacity. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong in Sharepoint logs, and we don't have any great way to understand if worker threads are being left open in SQL service by something we might have activated or not. As a way to try to reduce things, we've started turning off services on the SharePoint central admin - but to no apparent impact on the DB memory usage. We've hard-set the memory utilization governor to about 85% of total, but this seems like it'll cause a system slowdown without actually finding and resolving the issue. Has anyone had this issue - Sharepoint taking up all memory with processes in SQL Service - and if so, any ideas of how to resolve? THanks! --Dave Attachments: Screenshot 1 - Services Screenshot 2 - Memory Load
