Sharepoint 2007 sync with Outlook 2003 sync fails , but does create folder
Hi,I am trying to sync Sharepoint 2007 with Outlook 2003 on IE 8.I went into Sharepoint clicked on the Actions button in the Calendar view and selected "Connect to Outlook". It came up with the standard security window and it even created the new Calendar in Outlook 2003, but then when it tried to sync it came up with the message:Task 'Home - Annual Leave - Updating' reported error (0x80004005) : 'An error occurred either in Outlook or Windows SharePoint Services. Contact the Windows SharePoint Services site administrator.' It seems that it cannot get access to the sharepoint path???? - doesn't show up in properties. Is there a way to get round this?Thanks.John.

Hi, I suppose that you are using SSL termination on the ISA server. If I am right, the cause of the issue is that the wildcard certificate with the Common Name (CN) that was installed on the ISA server and used in all the publishing rules. ISA server should be able to verify the certificate with the Certificate Revocation List to see if the certificate is valid (not revoked or invalid), because if this is not possible the certificate will be marked as invalid. So please try to change the certificate with a new one. Hope it helps.Xue-Mei Chang

Xue-Mei,Thanks for the reply.I went through my Web Config for the Sharepoint Web Site and found that some "verbs" had stopped me using my Reporting Services Reports. This was fixed and hey presto the Outlook Sync now works. I think the issue was related to trying to be too smart and go into VS2008 and upgrade my webconfig from 2.0 to 3.5 so I could use linq. Problem is it put a lot of ____ in the web config - these verbs included.Thanks.John.
