Sharepoint 2007 server disconnected from farm
I accidentally disconnected my sharepoint server from my single server sharepoint farm. I don't know what I have to do get my sharepoint application back online. My Databases are intact and I have a copy of the old site structure. Please whatever help you provide would be greatly appreciated. I did not have a sharepoint backup.

We haven’t discussed was your server farm WSS3 or MOSS? If MOSS we still either need to create an SSP or restore the old one. 1. Create Project Folder, Backup Your Dbs then move the Baks to the project folder 2. Copy the following to the project folder a. 12 Hive b. wss\VirtualDirectories for ALL IIS WebSites 3. Install SharePoint Server to the same patch level as you had before or newer 4. Configure SharePoint and Start the SharePoint services 5. Create 3 WebApps a. MySites, DbName = WSS_Content_MySite _REM b. Portal, DBName = WSS_Content_PortalName_REM c. SharedServices, DbName = WSS_Content_SharedServices_REM 6. Delete the NEW Content Dbs from the WebApps you just created 7. Add the Original Content_Dbs you backed up in step 1 to the appropriate WebApps 8. Remove from SQL the Dbs ending with REM -IvanIvan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.

Now that we know its MOSS lets restore the SSP - Restore SSP 1. Central Administration > Application Management > Manage this Farm's Shared Services > Restore Shared Services Provider a. Enter SSP Name and choose the New SharedServices Web App name, then enter your New MySite Host, and enter the SharedServices UserName and Password b. SSP Database > this is the old SharedServices_Db, usually SharedServices1_Db c. Search Database > the Old SharedServices_Search_Db usually SharedServices1_Search_Db d. Click Ok 2. Configure the SSP Services, Usage Reporting, UserProfile Import and Schedule, and last Search Full Crawl and Schedule 3. Test the WebApps, Review the logs ensure the farm has the same features deployed Please ping back the post and let us know how its going....... I was able to restore an earlier server backup, but now I get the error in Firefox: Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. In internet explorer I get: The website declined to show this webpage Most likely causes: This website requires you to log in. The website declined to show this webpage HTTP 403 Most likely causes: This website requires you to log in. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /default.aspx

It seems you copied two different pages in your post because it shows both 403 and 404 server error. 403 error is related to permissions and 404 error occurs when the url can't be located. moreover, what method you used to restore your backup, stsadm or sql server restore? best farshid

I used Ntbackup utility. I also noticed that I can get to the settings of the sites, but I can get to the site settings but I can't get to any forms lists(Masterpages, list templates, etc.)

Apparently my backup was missing some files. I copied the files from an old version of the virtual directory and the sites seem to be functioning fine.
