Sharepoint 2007 Manage Farm Shared Services

You must be a member of the local administrators group. For more information, contact your system administrator" I am the system admin. Please help Thank you K I

At what stage do you get the error? Are you able to access the SSP creation form or do you get this error immediately? If you are able to access the form, I think I've come across this one before - I think the lesson was to ensure that you do NOT call the SSP the same name as the IIS application pool that you use for the SSP Admin Site. If you do call the SSP the same name as the application pool then I believe MOSS modifies the application pool identity which causes an access denied error. Otherwise, I would ensure that the account you are using is a local and domain administrator and has been added to the SharePoint farm administrator group. You can always remove it afterwards if security is a concern here. HTH.Benjamin Athawes Twitter SharePoint Blog

Thanks for the reply Ben, No I get this error once I click on "New SSP" from "Manage This Farm's Shared Services" page. The error says " You must be a member of the local administrators group" but where? I have a testing SharePoint server 2007 on a virtual machine, since I am the creator there, I can creat SSP's, so I added a user from the same Domain as a Farm Admin, and I tested the same scenario and I got the same error. Does it has anything to do with the SQL server? Thanks, K I
