Sharepoint 2007 - .stp - Query
I have a .stp deployed on one server (using stsadm) . Now I want to take a back-up copy of the .stp. Is there any command line utility for this purpose or can I do this from Central Admin?
Please help Suman

Hi Suman,
you could use the site template gallery in the sharepoint site where the .stp file is located. Take a copy from there!

Firstly Thank you. but when I deploy the .STP file using STSADM
command , the STP is not visible in the Site Template Gallery.
Is there any way that I can access the deployed .STP file ? I want to have a BackUP and modify it .

Let's quantify, do you mean .stp as in a site template or a site collection backup taken with STSADM, as these are two different things.
The reason your stp won't be available within the target Site Template Gallery is because you probably haven't moved the site definition on which it's based.
If you want to edit the stp itself, just create a new site using that file, make your changes and then save the site as a new definition.
Hope that helpshttp://www.final-exodus.net
