Sharepoint 2003 Subweb without Administrator permissions can not add back
I have a subweb without any permissions on it. Running enumusers results <Users Count="0">. I have tried to add users but get Access is denied. Tried to delete the subweb and get the same. Is there a way to reset the permissions to inherit from the parent? Or something like take ownership? Maybe just merge it back into the parent? I have complete access to the server and the database.

Hi kriginis1, To my knowledge, it’s hard to do this with your current permission. Whether through code working, or through OOTB solutions, are difficult to achieve your requirement. The best way to do this is to ask the Site Collection owner or Central Admin to grant you sufficient permissions. Thanks & Regards, Peng Lei

The problem is that I am the domain Admin - I have complete access. I have tried loging in as the Domin Admin the Local Admin the SharePoint Admin - none of them seem to be able to add back any permissions. As I posted earlier when you enumusers on the Subweb the <Users Count="0"> is the result - I think this means their are no users on the Subweb.

Try to put your account as "Full Control" on the Web Application policy level in central administration. That should do the trick. (Even though you're farm admin, doesn't mean you have sufficient rights to open sitecollections)My blog on WSS / MOSS development is found at http://jebass.blogspot.com

I am not sure this feature (setting Policy levels) is available in the 2003 in the Central Admin area.
