Hi, Please be very cautious when working SharePoint databases or you could be throwing the database into an unsupported state. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841057 Proper SharePoint database maintenance is described in this whitepaper: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262731(office.12).aspx As to a possibility of why your DB is growing excessively, it might be the auto grow setting. Also, SharePoint 2007 SP2 automatically reindexes the Content Databases via a Timer job. Excessive growth could also be due to the growth of the AuditData table. To check that, make a backup of your Content db, restore it somewhere, check the size of the table, and do the same a few days later. You can trim that via the stsadm -o trimauditlog command.http://sharepoint.nauplius.net
