Usually need more information on this one. It usually indicates that the configuration was not successful. Several possible causes: The account used to run IIS services for the application pool used by central admin or the SSP web application isnt valid You've setup CA and the SSP on a host/port combination that cant be resolved by DNS or that is blocked by a firewall You are browsing to the site locally and are running afoul of the IIS loopback check. If ths site is on the same server, make sure you disable the loopback check. This prevents malware on the local server from bypassing web security by coming back to the same machine using an alias. There are several ways to do this, as detailed in this KB article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861/en-us The basic way to shutoff loopback checking (not ideal security, by the way). Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER. Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer. Hope this helps!
