Share permissions for SCCM installation folders
Hi there, I believe after the SCCM 2007 installation, some installation folders (under C:/Program Files/Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager) should be shared and granted few permissions. Can someone please let me know what are the groups to be added and the exact permissions to be granted. Thanks in advance.

all these permissions will be set by server automatically hence no intervention is needed. by default sccm will provide rights to below groups sms_sitesystemtositeserverconnectoin(read and Write),sms_sitetositeconnection_sitecode(read and write),local admins(full) and system(full)Please click on "vote as Helpful" if you feel this post helpful to you. Hi Eswar, Thanks for your response. Would like to know if there is a way to know if the permissions are set properly, just to confirm that no one has changed them ignorantly. I mean to say which all folders should i check for shares and permissions.

Madhu This may not be answer you are looking for but here is what I did when I ran into a similar issue. I installed SCCM on test machine and compared the permissions vs my prod sccm. I saw a few changes,so I set them to whatever the test box had. After that I enabled Audting in local policies and on the Configmgr installation folder properties, I went to Audting tab and selected change permissions for machine\users. That way whoever changes permissions will atleast be logged. If you have SCOM, you can have these permission changes reported back via email as well. Not sure if it sounds complicated but let me tell you that we tested the whole thing in less than 10 mins. Just wanted share my experience. VamsiThanks, Vamsi
