SharePoint workflow
I want to create a workflow using SharePoint designer associate with a SharePoint list. The list has a choice column named "approval status" which has "Approved" and "Rejected". Now I want the user himself who add the item in this list get a notification email whenever the item is approved or rejected by approver. How can I do that using SharePoint designer?

Hi Patrick,

You just have to follow all the same steps to create the workflow and just add your logic which would be something like this :

if currentItem status equals to Approved

send email to currentUser

else send email to currentUser(assuming only 2 conditions Approve/Reject and send mails in both conditions)

Hi Patrick,

From your description, my understanding is that you want to send a mail to user who create the item whenever approver reject or approve the item.

You could accomplish your requirement with send mail action. Please refer to the screenshot below about how to create the workflow for your requirement:

Hi Both,

Thanks for the answer.

I still have a question. the way you show only works for two options. What if I have three options, I didn't see a third conditional branch in SharePoint designer 2013 workflow. How an I do that if I using 2013 workflow?

Meanwhile, I also like the approval receive an email notification when the item creator has modified the item. How can I do that? Thanks.
