Dear all We have have mapped 2 local network drives to our sharepoint via UNC path. So one to the root of the sharepoint (k:), the other one to a library(l:) and at least I also mapped the library as a network folder instead of a network drive. Situation one: I'm opening the mapped k: and navigate to the library (the same as I have mapped with the letter l:). I'm opening a document and it opens normal. Situation two: I'm opening the mapped l: and open the same document as in situation one, it takes about 10 to 20 seconds for opening. Situation three: I'm opening the same folder and file via the mapped network folder, everything goes smooth. Is every way supported by Microsoft? What do you advise to use? Hi , The two ways both have their advantages and disadvantages . My Network Places can be a useful troubleshooting tool in situations where two local networked devices cannot communicate with each other.
