SharePoint document showing not defined after check in
One of my End-user have problem with browsing a SharePoint Document on MS Word. The document properties show NOT DEFINED and it was unable to open for edit / view via MS Word but IE instead. When I compare the document properties with other working doc, I found the problem doc has 2 extra custom properties being added. 1) Decision 2) SDLC Phase which are not available in our SharePoint 2007 environment. Is there any fix for that ? What`s the cause of this ? Thanks

The cause may be related to the fact that this document wasn't originally created from scratch, but rather copied from an existing one to start with. This automatically carries old metadata. As for the Fix, 1 - Open the document in Word; 2 - Go File (Windows logo) > Prepare > Properties; 3 - On the left hand side of the yellow title bar that appears, click on Document Properties, and select Advanced Properties; 4 - In the new window, select the custom tab; 5 - Find the extra custom properties, select them and click Delete. 6 - Save and re-upload your document into SharePoint Nik http://ignitesoft.caNikolas Charlebois-Laprade Microsoft Certified Professional Software Engineer and Project Manager http://nikcharlebois.sharepointspace.com
