One of large, global Customers, is requesting the ability to have all the dates on their SharePoint site use the date format of DDMMMYYYY (matching our application's – e.g. 01Jan2010) SharePoint currently provides for regional settings on SharePoint sites that allow The Customer does not want to use this feature as it could be even more confusing for users. Any suggestions on how we might assist the Customer with this?

You can create a calculated column to display the date column. The formula can be: =TEXT([YourDateColumn], "d-mmm-yyyy") Please read the Combine text with a date or time section in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb862071.aspx

Thanks,Let me rephrase the question: Is there a way to modify SharePoint global settings to show all date fields in SharePoint with the date format of DDMMMYYYY ( specifically matching the following alpha-numeric format: 01Jan2010)? SharePoint currently provides for regional settings that allow for having the dates show as MM/DD/YYYY (US) or DD/MM/YYYY (Europe) but not the ability to define a different date format than one of these two options.
