I am not sure about why you are installing an older CU???
Starting with the
December 2009 CU, each cumulative update will ship a package that contains the latest version of every hotfix. This change makes it easier to create a new Office SharePoint Server and lets you patch it to the current update level by
applying the following four updates:
The latest service pack for Windows SharePoint Services
The latest service pack for Office SharePoint Server
The latest cumulative update for Windows SharePoint Services
The latest cumulative update for Office SharePoint Server

SELECT * FROM Versions
Right Click Execute
Use the Latest date or the highest id# to find the latest installed Schema… Example from SQL 12.0.0.6524
To Find the version of SharePoint Binaries installed
Right Click >Properties
%COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\12\ISAPI\Microsoft.SharePoint.dll: Example from File system 12.0.0.6524.5000
The only way we can help you with yoiur specific issue is for you to be specific as possible about the issue you are having.
