SharePoint Site Template Not Showing Up In Sites and Workspaces Custom Tab
Hello, I've done this so many times with no problems so i'm unsure what might be causing it this time. I'm simply taking a SharePoint "Team Site" template with a few added web parts and saving this site template so I can use it over again throughout my SharePoint sites. The .stp does show up in the Site Template Gallery, but for some reason the site template is not shown in Sites and Workspaces to select. I made sure that all version numbers match by checking the verions via Central Administration -> Operations -> Servers in Farm I'm on version 12.0.0.6524 Any ideas on something i'm missing? In the past all I had to do was save site as template, and than boom! it would show up in Sites and Workspaces. Any suggestions on what I might be missing would be of much help. Thank you, v/r JShidell

Visibility of a site template is limiteed to the gallry of the immediate site unless yuo register the template for the farm. To do this, export the STP file to the file system and then run this command: stsadm -o addtemplate -filename TemplateFilename.stp -title TemplateTitle (This assumes that you are in the same directory as the file and that you have stsadm on the PATH.) Now your template should be visible everywhere. Good luck! ChrisChris McNulty MCSE/MCTS/MSA/MVTS http://www.kma-llc.net | blog http://blogs.kma-llc.net/microknowledge | twitter @cmcnulty2000
