Hello, I use stsadm to backup a site collection in my production sharePoint farm and restore it on my testing sharepoint environment successfully. but when I login the test site collection as ADMIN, on the site actions menu, I only see three items, I lost:Create Page, Create Site, Site Setting items, but if I type siteurl/_layouts/settings, I can see the page and I can do the site setting jobs. Why I lost the three items? Thanks

Hello Cornelius, Thanks for your reply. The account I am using is Site collection Admin. The production site collection uses a host header. The deve environment site collection I use path based URl. is it a problem? how to do host header site collection backup and restore to a deve environment properly?

Hello Cornelius, Finally I figure it out. After my restore, SharePoint just locked the site collection and set it READONLY. so I go to Central Admin->Application Management->Site collection quotas and Locks, make sure the site collection is not readonly
