SharePoint Server Configuration
Hello everyone, I'm very new to this SharePoint thing with Microsoft, I've never used it before. I've actually recently found out that I have to enable port forwarding in order to connect to the server over the Internet. The thing is, I have a dynamic IP address, and I'm not sure how to use a SharePoint server with that. I was thinking about using Dynamic DNS, but I'm not quite sure how to use that. I try to change the IP to a Static IP address, but I can't connect to the Internet. I have a stand-alone server. Can anyone assist with the issue? Thank you Computer

Your port forwarding need to foward (normally port 80) on your sharepoint server local network adress (192.168.x.x) that is this adress that must be fix... For your router, you need to register for a dynamic DNS (like DynDns.org)... Once your router is configure to use the new dynamic DNS (mysharepoint.doesntexist.com for exemple), you also have to configure an alternate access mapping in internet zone in your sharepoint server with your new dynamic DNS url (http://mysharepoint.doesntexist.com) Hope this help!

Raevean, I actually would like some help configuring DynamicDNS. It's a service that I've heard of, but have never used before. If you could direct me through the process, that would be great! Thank youComputer
