We are using several RSS readers and everyone of the readers are having issues displaying the RSS feeds on our external site. We are running MOSS 2007. We have a internal publishing site that has a home page with the RSS reader web parts, that displays fine (viewing internally). We place this exact same site out on our dmz where our employees will be able to log into the site via their network id from the outside world. Everything is working on the page except for the RSS readers. Anywhere a RSS web part is we get an error "Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe". I talked to my infrastructure guy and he has informed me that we are not using a proxy server so I don't think "enable proxy settings in SharePoint web.config to view RSS Viewer Web Part" would work either? Any help would be great.

Ensure that the SafeControls section of the external web application's web.config file matches that of the internal web application's web.config file. It appears that you have a missing entry for the assembly containing the RSS reader web part.
