To figure out what is wrong you have to check up for errors: 1. Application event log 2. SharePoint log C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\LOGS 3. MS SQL Log Post errors if you will find any.Oleg

i checked Event viewer and i am finding this error : The description for Event ID ( 8214 ) in Source ( Windows SharePoint Services 3 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: A request was made for a URL, http://localhost:86, which has not been configured in Alternate Access Mappings. Some links may point to the Alternate Access URL for the default zone, http://nbciiscph012v:86. Review the Alternate Access mappings for this Web application at http://nbciiscph012v:34455/_admin/AlternateUrlCollections.aspx and consider adding http://localhost:86 as a Public Alternate Access URL if it will be used frequently. Help on this error: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=114854. Thanks Thanks and Regards, Amreesh Sharma| MCTS MOSS 2007| SharePoint Administrator

A post from you (now deleted) to a very much alive thread saying less than a day after the previous post in the thread "Can Some body help me on this? Any ideas???" is NOT OK. If you must bump, do so after at the very earliest THREE WORK DAYS and give some extra information. In this case you did neither. Moderator pre-2010 forums. This follow-up (Note: later deleted but said " it is fine. i understood but i am not getting any reply from anyone. So i just replied for someone to see it and reply accordingly.") shows that you still do not understand. These are forums. People will reply IF they want to and WHEN they want to. It is not your job to post messages demanding a reply to your questions as you did here. Certainly not only 18 hours after someone has posted in the thread. (and in this case a mere 20 hours after you started a thread which has already got a lot of replies) Next time, just remember that you are not the only person posting questions here and that your questions are no more important than anyone else's questions and do NOT bump your posts. If you are in that kind of a hurry you should not be using the forums for support. You should be signing a Premium Support contract with Microsoft or at least paying on a case-by-case basis for support by ringing Microsoft Customer Support Services. Did you read this article? This is the practical guide how to keep SharePoint database performance on acceptable level. The previous post contains just theoretical information.Oleg

I scanned it quickly. I was expecting a paper on SharePoint performance. What I found was a paper with a lot of detail about content databases and with a Title that didn't mention performance at all. My quick scan didn't find a section head that included the word Performance so that was why I was asking you where in the article the Performance information was.SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters
