SharePoint Logs
Hi,I am sharepoint admin. I have a questinon regarding sharepoint log which in 12 hive. If you go in 12 hive's log folder then you will see another folder with the guid. Question 1. how can i know the web application guid in oreder to get the logs in 12 hive?Question 2. which information resides in the logs file? how do i read it efficiently to get the important information? any documents?Thanks.

If you open the configuration database in SQL enterprise manager under VirutalServers it should show the site name and the GUID - I think there is a field called siteGuid and siteName or URL but you'll need to return all rows to confirm it.
As to question 2, there is a utility out there called logparser that works with MOSS log files. Its well described.
