Yes it is. You can join another server to the farm to run the search components off of.

Right, you would want to modify the topology of the existing Search Service:

Generally you would want your Query/Index on the front end server, while the other components reside on a backend server.

Hi Trevor, and sorry, Im not totally clear,

the article says, that apply just for: SharePoint Server, I need this for a SP Foundations, it is OK?

When the article says: SharePoint Server = SharePoint Foundation / SharePoint Enterprise?

thanks

Search is identical across Foundation to Enterprise in SharePoint 2013, now. So yes, it still applies. Only limitation of Foundation is that you can only have a single instance of Search.

Take a look at:

This has the steps to migrate the components.

Hi Trevor,

This script does not work, it was the same as I ran the last night,.

Generates the error at this point: New-SPEnterpriseSearchAdminComponent

When you run it, asks for a enterprise CAL, for the same command says it is EnterpriseSearch.
Error - "New-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication: Access to this functionality requires SharePoint Server With Enterprise Client Access License."

  thanks
