Hi, I have included the best resource on FBA from Steve Attis and Steve Peschka below (I would read Attis first, i think its what you are looking for): Peschka has published a series of articles on forms based authentication in Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Part 1 discusses FBA itself, Part 2 talks about providers, and Part 3 discusses some of the differences between FBA and Windows authentication. Forms Authentication in SharePoint Products and Technologies (Part 1): Introduction Forms Authentication in SharePoint Products and Technologies (Part 2): Membership and Role Provider Samples Forms Authentication in SharePoint Products and Technologies (Part 3): Forms Authentication vs. Windows Authentication This is the first real "authoritative" say on FBA to date from Microsoft. I can't wait until I have to do is click a button to do this! One thing that I did not see mentioned in the white papers during my initial scan was to be sure that the account that you are using as the application pool's identity for the FBA website in question has the rights it needs within SQL Server to access the ASP.NET membership schemas. Steve Attis provides the only known guidance on using FBA with MySites and here are the links: FBA Walkthrough Part 1 FBA with MySites Walkthrough Part 2 Steve Attis Blog http://www.devcow.com/blogs/jdattis/default.aspx he has the most detailed information and is where I found information on my first FBA deployment... No worries - let me know if you decide to go with LiveID I wrote up some pretty good Build and Configuration guidance. the Build and Confuration guidance alonhg witgh the Several tapes Should be finished in 1 week inside / 2 weeks outside depends on client committments..Its so easy because you dont have to deal with setting and resetting UserAccounts accept to grant them access and add them to the SharePoint groups, it has saved me tons of time because there is no way you can train the admins to add and monitor users though the >NET / SQL provider interface. Almost complete with the Guidance and working on the Movies (desktiop recording now). As time permits I am automating the web.Config modifications as well that seems tio be where admin to add and remove users from SQL easily... Lawrence Liu did a good job with the product CKS.WLA and just left the documenation a little light. If you wanna see how it works go to http://scriptlogic.trex-si.com, just ensure your email address that you register with is the same as the one your using for authentication with LiveID. (Thats the Key) Ciao, Im finished for the day, I think... -Ivan -Ivan Ivan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.
