If a user has the Add and Edit item permission but no Delete item permission for a document library, he can upload a document successfully, however, when he want to click the Edit Properties to change the Name the page will be redirected to "Access Denied". If give him the Delete permission, then everything gones be ok. Does the edit permission depend on Delete Permission?

This came up in the forums not too long ago. The problem is that the Name field is used as one of the index fields for the document in the list. So changing the name field of an existing document actually copies the document, changes the name, and deletes the original.
