We created a workflow in SharePoint 2013 list. This email was designed to send emails but then this email was deleted from Designer and there are no known instances in SP list > Workflow settings for this workflow.

Still we are getting email from this workflow, any idea where to troubleshoot to stop these wor

From your description, deleted workflows still sending emails.

I would like to collect the following information:

Did you created a SharePoint 2010 platform or 2013 platform workflow?

Does your workflow containing "send an email" action or "start a task process" action or other actions related to email?

If your workflow contains Assign a task action, there will be a section you can choose to send task emails daily.

So for your issue, I suggest you to delete the tasks which has already exists in the workflow related task list.

Then Go to CA->restart the services related to the workflow.
