SharePoint DataSheet View Issues -
Hello, We are using SharePoint 2007 and have created a Task list in Datasheet View and it seemed that some users are having problems viewing it in the original format. The users that are having problems have Office 2010 x64 and they get the following message "The list is displayed in Standard view. It cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows SharePoint Services is not installed, your browser does not support ActiveX controls, or support for ActiveX controls is disabled." The users who are still using office 2003 or office 2010 x32 are able to view in Datasheet View with no problems. Is the issue with a setting on the user's laptop or more with office 2010 x64 compatibility issue? Thanks...B

Hi, The issue is around the 64-bit Office 2010 edition that doesn't ship 32-bit ActiveX controls! More details on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2266203 thanks.-- techChirag

Peng Lei (or anyone MSFT): Is there any commitment to produce 64-bit versions of the SharePoint ActiveX controls? If so, any ETA? Thanks.

Datasheet view is based on dll called stslist.dll which is a component from Microsoft Access. If you don't have Access, then, install Ms Access 2010 runtime, that will install that component and add-on for IE. Also check the issue for 64-bit
