SharePoint Crawl Rule Form Credential Authentication Error

Hi,

Additing Point to the SharePoint Content Search Issue

We have developed the eCommerce Application with Dot Net 3.5 and SharePoint 2010. We have implemented this application using Claims based forms authentication. eCommerce application has 7 brands and for each brand we have separate configurations (in AAM, 4 sites Internet, 1 Intranet, 1 Extranet and 1 Custom) but application has one single codebase. Based on the Brand code login, the application would redirect to specific brand.

Recently Customer wants to add a Content Search functionality in SharePoint 2010 through Dot Net application. For this enhancement we have tried Query object model with SharePoint search service application in out-of box model. To meet this objective we have done the following steps :

Search Application in Central Admin

We have created the Search Service application in SharePoint 2010 and mapped to relevant web application in Central Admin. For Crawling the SharePoint content, we have configured the Content source and we are try to configure Form authentication and getting the blank page even form load is not asking sharepoint claims authentication and still page is loading.

eCommerce application deployed in 5 server and the servers are below,

1. WFE 1  - UI , Redirect to AppServer 1 server CA

2. WFE 2 - UI , Redirect to AppServer 1 server CA

3. App Server 1- SharePoint Cental Admin Main

4. App Server 2 - Sql , Redirect to AppServer 1 server CA

5. Index Server  - Sql, Redirect to AppServer 1 server CA

Thanks,

Balaji

Keep in mind that SharePoint Search can only crawl a Web Application that has Windows Authentication enabled.

Surely that's not true? Why have forms authentication then?

The troubleshooting link is good but old (sharepoint 2007). The original post refers to the crawl rule form not working, and that is the same problem I am having. Is there any answer to that, as both items marked as answer in this thread are not in fact an answer to either the question or the problem.
