I have created a Team site and have noticed that the App Launcher bar is causing a second authentication request for non setup or farm account.

Can you share some of the evidence/log traces (fiddler) to demonstrate what you are referring to and how it manifests

As a 'normal' user I open a team site, the page load as per normal, after being fully loaded there is an additional login prompt and there is no sites control in the top nav bar

cant see anything special in the ULS, but in fiddler I can see a couple of 401's
