SharePoint 2013 search not able to crawl non-sharepoint site

Hi

I am creating a new Content source in search service of SharePoint 2013 that is pointing to external web site (non-sharepoint site). I passed the correct credentials that allows access in this site. But  when I am starting Full crawl, it shows this error to me.

Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled.

In the Logs I found this error information

05/25/2015 12:15:00.39  mssdmn.exe (0x2258)                      0x1560 SharePoint Server Search       Connectors:HTTP                du4f High     CHttpAccessorHelper::InitRequestInternal - Access Denied PRTH_E_ACCESS_DENIED on request for 'http://kmuk.equant.com' hr =0x80041205  [httpacchelper.cxx:262]  search\native\gather\protocols\http\httpacchelper.cxx 2bb1cf1b-2bfc-4d3c-b7b1-a8f0ef55950e

Culd you please help me to configure it.

Hi Ravi,
From the error message, I recommend to check the things below:

  1. Make sure that the crawl account has permission to access the site and the site can be accessed on the server where the crawl component runs.
  2. Disable loop back check and then do a full crawl to see how it works.

Hi Victoria

Thanks a lot for prompt response. I have found this article before and followed it completely. I have done all settings as mentioned in the article but it is not working.

In my case I need to crawl a external web site (Confluence wiki) and in the crawler rule I am passing the credential of user who have full control permission on Confluence wiki. Here SharePoint and Confluence wiki both are on Same AD.  I have given full control permission to Default Content Access Account in Confluenc wiki.

This is the name of my  Default Content Access Account : adm-app-xchn8222.

I have added the same account with full control permission in wiki also. So I think access denied should not happend. Please let me know what other things I can do.
