I have 17 document file names containing "resource" but i get only 15 files in search result page..

I did full crawl..

I tried reset index..still getting the same res

I need some more information to be able to help you.

• Are all the documents of the same type (Word, PDF...)?
• Have you checked the crawl log to make sure all 17 documents were successfully indexed?
• Where is the word "resource" contained? The document title? The document content?
• Are all the documents stored in the same document library?
• Do you have different permissions for each document?

Which place on you are trying ? Search page or search query tool, Is there any row limit property ?

Same issue occurs if you upload those two files to another site? What types of files are non working one? Was it working earlier?

Make sure the option to view duplicates is enabled. If SharePoint thinks results are too similar it hides them from the search results since they are considered duplicate.

Is this a standalone word in all of the file names?  I.e. NewResource vs. New Resource or New_Resource.

Are you using any properties in the search such as "title:Resource"

Are you running SP Foundation, Standard, Enterprise or O365? (Foundation search is a bit different.)

Could some of the files be considered duplicate results by SharePoint?  SharePoint 2013 trims what it considers duplicate results by default.
