Hi Deepak,

I recommend to reset the index and then run a full crawl in Search Service Application to see how it works.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219652.aspx

Please also check ULS log for more error logs for further research.

To narrow down the issue scope, you can also create a new Search Service Application to test and compare the results.

Here is a similar thread for your reference and you can also check if those issues exist in your Search Service Application:

Hi Deepak,

Is your environment a single server with built-in database?

Per my knowledge, the minimum resources for crawl, content processing, query processing are 8GB RAM if each component is hosted in one server.

If the server hosts two or more of these components, we need to increase memory to 16 GB.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn727118(v=office.15).aspx#BKMK_HWMiniRest

So only 4 GB is not enough for Search Service Application to run successfully.

Victoria,

Thanks for quick reply.

We do have only one server which hosts web application portal and all service applications including search service application.

unfortunately it has only 4 GB ram and it may causes this issues.

search service application is taking unlimited time for crawling content and getting following error in CA,

should i increase 4 GB ram to 8 GB or 12 GB RAM?

what is solution for it?

Thanks again.

Hi Deepak,

As all the search components are running in one server, then you need to increase memory to 16 GB to make search work successfully.

Best regards.
