SharePoint 2010 and IE 11 Issues

My company is planning to migrate to IE 11 and from testing there are so many issues with this browser from testing.  In document library's view in explorer is disabled.  I've read the various posts about it and have not found a solution.  Yes I'm using 32 bit version of IE on Windows 7 machines. Also second when trying to open Office documents we simply can't from the menu.  When clicking to edit an item it spits at "The document could not be opened for editing.  a microsoft SharePoint foundation compatible application could not be found to edit the document." In firefox it opens it fine and dandy.  So are there any fixes that anybody knows of?  I've read of other various issues with IE 11 and still haven't seen any solutions.  Has anyone had any luck with a support call with microsoft?

The issue is more IE 11 is not being completely honest rather than compatibility issues. (although there some of those.) If you visit a site like http://useragentstring.com/ with IE 11 you will see that it is not admitting that it is IE 11. It's actually hinting that it is Mozilla (Netscape/Firefox) or "like Gecko" (Chrome).

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko

As SharePoint 2010 is looking for an IE browser, it disables a number of features.

You can try the IE Compatibility Mode and it will then send an IE 7 user agent string:

  Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; Trident/7.0; .NET4.0E; .NET4.0C; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; InfoPath.3)

This should fix some things, but possibly add issues with InfoPath forms.

What you want to do, is configure your SharePoint sites to be in IE's list of sites that use COMPATIBILITY MODE. You can perform this on a per-computer basis, or using a group policy.

Compatibility mode fixes the opening of office files but the open in explorer view is still disabled.  I've tried everything on this post but still doesn't work.  http://sharepointknowledgebase.blogspot.com/2013/09/open-with-explorer-is-disabled.html#.VQiXPPzF_QI

Hi,

For your issue, please try the following troubleshooting tips:

1.Make sure the User Account Control (UAC) setting is low or disabled.

2.Clear cache and cookies for Internet Explorer.

3.Set User Agent String to Internet Explorer 8 like the capture below:

4.Check and install the latest Office and Windows updates.

5.Turn off  IE Windows features on and re-turn on it.

a) Uncheck Internet Explorer.
b) Restart the computer.
c) Now check the Internet Explorer again.

Best Regards,
