Sharepoint 2010 - Tags & Notes greyed-out.

Need help how to enable this feature. I am using the Administrator account but no luck on making it work.

Please check managed metadata service is running or not. it should be running in order to make it work.

I am trying to open this thread again,

Hemendra, I created a New - Managed Metadata Service but still the Tag & I like it still greyed out.

Do I need to stop/start the Service again? please advise, Anthony

I guess may be your Taxonomy Field got corrupted try creating a new Taxonomy Field from the UI and check if it working fine or not. If it is working fine that means your MMS is working fine and there is a issue with the Taxonomy field. I have encountered this problem when the HiddenField of the Taxonomy field got deleted/corrupted somehow (as we all know Taxonomy fields are composed of two fields).
