SharePoint 2010 SP1 in a Windows 2012 R2 Domain

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find an official Microsoft article on it.

We have a mixture of 2003 & 2008 R2 Domain Controllers, and an old SharePoint 2010 SP1 environment.  I know nothing about SharePoint, but need to implement a 2012 R2 DC ASAP, but cannot find if this is supported by Microsoft. All I can find is that if I wanted to run SP2010 on 2012 R2 then I would need SP2, which is not our scenario.

Has anyone else done this and did you encounter any issues?

Thanks

DJ

Hi Trevor,

Thanks for this, I know 2003 was the minimum, but wondered if the introduction of a 2012 R2 domain controller (and associated schema update) would affect anything?

Looks like we need to get SP2 applied anyway regardless.

Cheers
