SharePoint 2010 My Site Search Returns

Hello,

I have our SP 2010 server site set up to sync with active directory. When I search for people on My Site I get the employees profile along with all of the generic email accounts they own.

I'm wondering if there is a way to remove all references to the employee ownership of email accounts from the search return?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Do you want to display results without email in people search?

Please follow the steps below to achieve your requirement:

1. Access your search center (IE. http://hostname/Search/) > access people results page (IE. peopleresults.aspx).

2. Edit people results page > edit People Search Core Results web part > Expand Display Properties > uncheck Use Location Visualization option.

3. Edit the Fetched Properties text box > copy all the text > paste it into NotePad.

4. Find WorkEmail column > change HitHighLight from true to false > save it > copy and paste to Fetched Properties text box.

And the result is:

Thanks for the reply Dean.

Your solution isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I will use myself as an example.

I own six generic email accounts within my Corporation. If someone searchs my name my profile is display along with the profiles of all six generic email accounts.

For the genric email accounts the profile picture is blank and the persons name is the name of the email account, underneath that is my name:owner.

I guess my question should be the AD sync is pulling in user profiles and all generic email accounts. Is there a way to only show the peoples profile?
