SharePoint 2010 - InfoPath form not opening in browser but prompts to open or save the xml
I have 6 site collections for a web app. An InfoPath form has been deployed which is filled by users from each subsite under these site collections. Until recently the form is working fine but recently it stopped opening the form in browser on 4 out of 6 site collections. On the site collections it's not working, when users try to open the InfoPath form, they get the option to save or open the .xml file. This form hasn't been changed since Dec. Not sure what broke this. Can any one help?

Hi,

Per my understanding, an InfoPath form cant open in browser in some of your site collections in one web application recently.

As you said, This form hasn't been changed since Dec, recently it stopped opening the form in browser on 4 out of 6 site collections, I suggest you do as follows:

1. In the Form library which contains this form, please check that whether it is set to open InfoPath forms in browser by default:

2. In the Site Collection Features of the issued site collections, whether the SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection features is activated;

3. Also, please check ULS logs to see if anything unexpected occurred when opening an InfoPath form in these issued site collections.

About how to check the ULS logs:

Hi,

1.Check whether feature is activated for the infopath form on site collection level. if it is not activate and it will open form in browser.

2.You need to set Browser File Handling  to Permissive.

Open Central Administration -> Manage Web Applications -> Select web application -> General Settings >> Browser File Handling >> set to Permissive .
