SharePoint 2007 site is no longer running after restore the DB
Hi, I have a SP server 2007 running in staging environment. We accidentially wiped out the whole DB server, we rebuit it now. Adding the sp admin account back to the SQL box, as admin, restore the DBs, and grant this admin account the db-owner right to all the DBs. And also for server roles, it has dbcreator, public, securityadmin and sysadmin. When I run the Central Admin using http:\\localhost, it is fine, but when I tried http:\\<servername>, all I got is "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage". Any reason why? And same thing for all web applications in SP. But the weird thing is even the web app isn't launching under http://localhost. Please advice. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the IIS - what ports the web applications are running under? Not sure when you said "http:\\<servername>" whether you included the port number or not (i.e. http:\\servername:9000). What is the version of the IIS you have there? Can you browse the sites from the IIS?BlueSky2010

Hi, According to your description, I suggest that you should check these two issues: a. DNS : check whether the new server is registered in the DNS. b. Lookback: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861 Please have a try. Best Regards David Hu
