SharePoint 2007 on Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005
Hello, I have SharePoint 2007 on Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005 and I create my site and SSP to searching in me site and it was working fine, after that the SSP stop working Suddenly and it give me “Page error” when I click in “search settings” in my SSP, however me site still working. I tried to create another SSP but I got the below error : Shared Services Provider Creation Failed. Reason:Thread was being aborted. Check the event log for details. NoteSP provisioning will be retried periodically. If you correct the error that caused this failure, provisioning will subsequently succeed. To stop provisioning from being retried, delete the SSP. After that I got another error : Provisioning failed: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))) But I have tried to make search service to logon as Administrator and create a new SSP again but I got the same error, and change it to Local service and local system account but the same error still happened, however the search SQL database created successfully I’m also tried to restart the server and try to create new SSP again but the error still happen Thanks for any support - IKAN

Hi IKAN,If this is not a Production/Critical environment, then try re-running "SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard" and check if this resolves your problem. Thanks & Regards, Kamlesh | Blog | Twitter Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hi IKAN, It seems that the service account credential it is running under is no longer valid or is expired. Please verify SSP service account info of your SharePoint farm based on the following planning tool.http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=92883&clcid=0x409 You should see this knowledge base for how to change the passwords for service account if you need to.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838 Hope it helps. Ikan, How are you specifying the credentials when creating the SSP? DOMAIN\user or user@domain.com? I have seen similar results when trying to create the SSP if you specify the user as "user@domain.com", use the DOMAIN\user format.
