SharePoint 2007 and Office 2010 Compatibility
So far all of my clients that have been piloting Office 2010 have been running into complications with updating documents in a SharePoint 2007 environment. They are receiving the following notification when trying to save their changes: <Document Name> has not been uploaded to the server. Do you want to close this file? All Microsoft Office files that have changes pending upload to the server can be viewed here:Microsoft Office Upload Center In the Upload center we have the following status: Upload Failed - Upload Error No additional information is available, you just have an option to select 'Resolve'. This tells you to save the document localy and then upload it to the SharePoint server. Has anyone found a better log location that can be reviewed for status errors with the Upload Center? Or, is Office 2010 even really usable within a corporate environment running SharePoint 2007?

Hi Lewis, I am afraid that I cannot reproduce your issue, I save an Office 2010 document to SharePoint document library and manage to update this file in MOSS 2007 SP2. I think Office 2010 surely should be useable within an SharePoint 2007 environment. For your scenario, has the document been updated in SharePoint document library after this upload error? Thanks & Regards.Lily Wu

The error occurs whith the Office Uplaod Center. I have found a slight workaround. When a user edits a file on SharePoint they have to choose the option to cache the file locally and then they can use the check in option to update the file on the SharePoint site. If they choose the option to save the file then goes to the Office Upload Center, at which point the update fails. This appears to be an issue with how the Office Upload Center interfaces with SharePoint 2007. Regards, Lewis_Carroll

Hi Lewis, I am also getting getting same issue. I have MOSS 2007 and MS Office 2010. When i open any new document from document library then document crash and if it open then save on different location other then specific document library. This functionality working fine with MOSS 2007 and MS Office 2007. Please suggest if u have any solution. Thanks

Hi, I have also been having problems with the Upload Center and Office 2010 relating to SharePoint. I had previous issues with saving documents when it was saying that there were multiple users/versions open and did I want to merge changes when it was only me that had the file open. It seemed like I was given multiple personalities being my log in details on the SharePoint site and my logon on my computer. From last week now, it seems I cannot open any Office files from SharePoint at all. When I click on a file to open it from SharePoint, it loads the office program and you see the progress bar working away down in the bottom right to open the file but then it finishes and goes blank and the actual document never loads up. Starting to get a bit annoying as we have our most up to date files on SharePoint.
