SharePoint 2007 Permissions Audit
I need a way to list the permissions applied to a site all the way down to the item level. I read through several related topics and all but one reference the audit logging feature that's native to WSS. This out-of-the-box audit feature appears to be a good way to audit activity as it's occuring; however, it will not work for anyone wanting to list existing permissions on sites, libraries, documents, etc... One post referenced a tool called SharePointUserRights and while the tool lists permissions for sites and document libraries, it doesn't appear to list permissions for folders and items contained within the document libraries. This is a problem for us as we have broken inheritance all over the place. Any suggestions? I would look into a 3rd party reporting tool like DeliverPoint from Lightning Tools.Imagine what we could be...if we could just imagine. | Daniel A. Galant | Sr. SharePoint Solutions Architect EPC Group.net

You could also consider using an utility provided within the Microsoft Administration kit. It has a utility that will give you a full permissions breakdown on your deployment. It may be a little tricky to use at first but its free and should do the job. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14227Steven Andrews | SharePoint Professional | http://www.twitter.com/backpackerd00d | https://baron72.wordpress.com/
