SharePoint 2007 Authentication Issue
Appologies I am not a SharePoint expert but have run into an authentication issue, there are some workstations that are not joined to the domain and are constantly being prompted to login to Sharepoint I have written a simple batch file that maps a drive to the AD on login of the non domain clients so that they are authenticated to the AD for example: net use v: \\server\smbshare /user:Domain\%username% A domain user exists in the with the same credentials and the pass through authentication works great and the user does actually connect to the AD but SharePoint still prompts for login it is as if it is not searching in the Domain for the user and that SharePoint is only searching its local SAM database for the user lookup. To login in successfully in IE browser the domain name has to be appended in the login box, does anyone have any advice on this issue it would be very much appreciated. To add further complication If I create a user account in the SharePoint server SAM database with the same credentials it works! It logs in automatically without issue. Carl Smith MCITP-EA
