SharePoint & e-mail distribution lists, email doesn't send
Hi, I can't get SharePoint distribution lists to send any e-mail to the members. I have WSS 3.0 on Server 2003 (SP2). We have a very small, simple network. In our SharePoint sites, the alerts are working such that users get e-mails for the alerts they have setup. But we haven't ever setup any distribution groups in SP until recently. So we have gone through the obvious steps: In 'Change Group Settings', we create a distribution group for the SharePoint group (e.g., mygroup@sharepoint.ACME.LOCAL) In SharePoint Central Administration --> Operations --> Approve/reject dist groups, we have approved all groups. They now show as Approved. But in the actual SP site, the distribution list status still shows "Creation request pending" and any attempt to send an e-mail to that address seems to go into a black hole. In AD, I have verified that the distribution list Security Groups were created by this process. They are there. I don't see any members inside of these groups in AD, but perhaps that is to be expected, since they point back to SharePoint to determine who the members are? What else am I missing? Clay G.
