Several 21042 Information Events on my Management Servers
Hi All, Wonder if someone can help me out here. Since installing Cumalative Update 3 in my live environment I keep getting the following messages for all of my exchange clustered servers. Log Name: Operations Manager Source: OpsMgr Connector Date: 17/06/2011 11:24:56 Event ID: 21042 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: M01.test.uk Description: Operations Manager has discarded 3 items in management group LIVE, which came from CCR01.parliament.uk. These items have been discarded because no valid route exists at this time. This can happen when new devices are added to the topology but the complete topology has not been distributed yet. The discarded items will be regenerated. I am getting these information events frequently in the opsmgr event logs of my management servers and only for my exchange cluster servers. Anyone have any ideas why this could be happening?

Hi, Firstly, since the issue occurred after installing CU3, please check the upgrade referring to the following post: OpsMgr 2007 R2 CU3 rollup hotfix ships – and my experience installing it http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2010/10/04/opsmgr-2007-r2-cu3-rollup-hotfix-ships-and-my-experience-installing-it.aspx Regarding the issue, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Clearing the HealthService queue on the problematic servers: 1) Stop System Center Management service. 2) Go to C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\, and rename the “Health Service State” folder. 3) Restart System Center Management service. 2. Restart the following services and see if it works: System Center Management service System Center Management Configuration service System Center Data Access service 3. Check the management pack referring to the following Knowledge Base article and ensure you have imported the latest version of the Exchange Server management pack. Operations Manager 2007 Management Group is not distributing new configuration to agents http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2017680 If the issue persists, please check the Event Log on the server and clients; if there are any related errors, please let us know the details. Hope this helps. Thanks.
