Setup errors

Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013

Setup errors.

Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):

This product requires Microsoft .net framework 4.5

I initially ran the "Install software prerequisites" and it says that it has completed successfully.  I have restarted and logging on as a Server 2012 VM and I show in Feature Installation, .net Framework 4.5 features, I had them "all" selected "except" message queuing and so I added it, but still it doesn't "help."

Logged on as a domain admin and NOT a domain controller.

Hi Matthew.

Assuming that you are running on Windows Server 2008 R2. Try this:

Manually download and install the package: dotNetFx45_Full_x86_x64

I have seen this help others.

Even I am seeing the same error...  I tried to download .Net 4.5 and install it manually but .. it exits saying "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system."

SP 2013 Prerequisites says it installed everything

Any ideas?

Yes - I have same issue. Windows Server 2012 downloaded from TechNet, full internet access. SQL Server 2012 installed. Keeps saying it requires .Net Framework 4.5 even though I manually installed successfully.

I have been getting a similar error, tried various options including the one mentioned here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765375?wa=wsignin1.0. No luck.!

However, I got it working on another machine - Windows Server 2012.

So it got me thinking and in search of finding  a pattern . I then  installed it on various other machines too, succeeded in a few and failed in others.

The one thing I observed was , the machine in which I tried to  install  SP2013 RTM (after uninstalling SP 2013 preview) gives me an error however if I install SP2013 RTM on a fresh machine it succeeds. Not sure if this is the reason, but would like to validate it from all you  facing the similar issue.

Hi.

An idea...just an idea...

In IIS, check so that you have the correct .NET framework selected:

Select the 'Server' object at the very top in the left hand pane.
On the right pane, select 'Change .NET Framework version'
Make sure that 4.0 is seelcted and not 2.0

IIS reset and/or reboot.
Run the setup again.

And..

Stupid question but asking it anyway:

Do you have the following setup, in 'Server Manager' in the  'Add Roles and Features' wizard:

Please re-download .Net4.5 framework manually.Don't run the prerequisites.

And run it with Administrator Privilege.

I faced similar issue and solved this way.

Yeah, and uninstall/remove it first. Then add it back on..

I can not find this particular view to verify that I have it checked. I am using 2008r2 and have followed all of the other steps to install .net 4.5. I am still geting this same error when I try to install sharepoint 2013

Hi Ricky.

Since this was originally a question about Server 2012 I gave an answer according ly.
Im sure that the IIS configuration looks the same in WS2008R2, but maybe not the role/feature setting since you don't have the same server manager in WS2008R2

Check and see, I Think this is a bigger issue, more and more people are reporting it.

Thanks for the reply my fix was to install .NET 4.0 first then 4.5 this allowed me to continue the install and move on to configuring it.

Hello

I had this same problem, and I detected it was related to the fact I was using a Release Candidate for Windows Server 2012. After using the RTM vesion, everything went fine...

Hope that helps

Hi Matthew, vvarkala, John,

Did any of you get this working?

I am also trying to install SP2013 Server SP1 (en_sharepoint_server_2013_with_sp1_x64_dvd_3823428) on Windows Server 2012 R2 (Datacenter).

As I understand it, .NET 4.5 is part of the OS, so I can't really un-install it, I can only turn off the feature. So I'm not understanding all the suggestions about "un-install 4.5, download and manually re-install it" -- makes no sense to me.

Thanks,

Paul
