Setting up email for calendar
I have gone into the SharePoint Control Panel and enabled e-mail. I have gone to the calendar I want people to be able to email, set the email address, and allowed it to accept emails from the people in the members and owners groups. However, I sent it an appointment a few hours ago and it still hasn't shown up in the calendar. Did I miss a step somewhere? Thanks! This is my first time using this, so I'm swinging in the dark.

Please make sure you had configured incoming email for SharePoint correctly as described in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc287879.aspx . SharePoint WFE will always fetch incoming email from the Drop folder of the SMTP service on the same server, you may monitor the drop folder in Windows Explorer to see if the email is successfully delivered to SharePoint (keep refreshing the folder to see if new file created, you should be fast). And you can open the trace log of SharePoint to check if there is error for incoming email processing. Does your appointment from outlook contain attachment? If it contains, what if you send something without attachment?
