Setting up Incoming Email on Doc Libs without using Exchange Server (want to use POP 3 only)
Hi, I'm trying to setup my doc libs to receive emails. I'm using the following Guide: http://www.combined-knowledge.com/Downloads/How%20to%20configure%20Email%20Enabled%20Lists%20in%20Moss2007%20RTM%20using%20Exchange%202003.pdfI do not have Exchange Server Running on my vm. Can I setup a doc lib to receive emails using only Server 2003's Pop Email service? If so are there any guides on how to do so?Thanks

In short, the answer is yes. I would recommend http://blogs.msdn.com/b/neilth/archive/2007/10/26/sharepoint-2007-incoming-email.aspx as a starting point in configuring MOSS incoming emails. The process involves setting up a drop folder, giving the MOSS timer job access to the share and assigning email addresses to appropriate document libraries. In our case, we struggled to get the AD Directory Management service working with incoming emails so ended up allowing all users to send to document libraries - and restricting instead by IP address.
