Setting up Access Services 2013 with SQL Server 2014 and Windows Server 2012 R2

Hello,

I am looking for Informations about Setting up Access Services on Sharepoint 2013 SP1 with SQL Server 2014. Which Feature do I have to install from which Feature Pack on the Sharepoint Server with Windows Server 2012 R2?

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Local DB (SQLLocalDB.msi) -> Is not included in FeaturePack 2014
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Data-Tier Application Framework (DACFramework.msi) ->  Is not included in FeaturePack 2014
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client (sqlncli.msi) -> Is not included in FeaturePack 2014
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Transact-SQL ScriptDom (sqldom.msi) OR 2014
Microsoft System CLR Types for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SQLSysClrTypes.msi) OR 2014

Thanks for any advice...

Hi  ,

There are several components which have released for SQL Server 2014:

Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Data-Tier Application Framework

Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Transact-SQL ScriptDom

Microsoft System CLR Types for Microsoft SQL Server 2014

You can download them in here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-hk/download/details.aspx?id=40735

Also SQL Server 2014 installs SQL Server 2012 Native Client. There is no SQL Server 2014 Native Client.

For SQL Server 2014 Local DB, you can download it in here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42299

Eric

Thanks for this Information, but will I have to use the 2014 Tools or will Access Services also work with 2012 Tools?

Hi ,

You need to  use the 2014 Tools since the  database of  your environment is SQL Server 2014.

Hi,

We are in the same situation, trying to install ACCESS Services 2013 on SQL Server 2014.  I couldn't find much instruction specifically for SQL Server 2014.  I found below doc. for SQL Server 2012.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30445

Are there any additional differences that I need to pay attention to other than the files mentioned in the previous post?

Thanks in Advance!

Access Services 2013 does not support SQL Server 2014. You must use SQL Server 2012.

Trevor,

Thanks for the reply. That was what I though too... but according to the this thread title, and the answers, there seems to be a solution.  Am I mistaken?

The information in this thread is incorrect. Access Services in SharePoint 2013 does not support SQL 2014.

Thanks.  Do you know if Microsoft is working on a solution to support SQL Server 2014 in ACCESS Services 2013?

No, I don't. I'm sure we'll hear more details as SharePoint 2016 is closer to release since it should contain the same or updated services.
