Setting overrides on a group but not the whole group
Hello,
I have been doing a lot of reading on overrides and found several good blogs and websites as well as this site that I have been using to implement SCOM 2012. I was recently reading on overrides and this link
http://thoughtsonopsmgr.blogspot.com/2011/08/storing-overrides-good-bad-and-ugly.html seems to make the most sense to me. I also found
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943239 which provides some good guidance as well. I still have a question
I know and agree that overrides should be made to groups not individual objects but I have a question about that. We have several SQL Servers a one SQL Express Server for Backup Exec. DB File Space on MSDBData is in a critical state
on that system. The original alert comes in under Windows Component Role Health Rollup. I looked and there is no group for SQL Express and I want warnings on our production databases. While concerned about it it would not be life ending to
have our Backup Exec DB get corrupted or run out of space. We have monitors on disk usage and that is of more concern to us. Where should I create the override?
Thoughts?
TIA,
Jim
